Change Management Training – let’s celebrate


I am the youngest child at home, so, I had the right to get pampered and so everyone at home always did. Being the pampered one at home, my birthday was always the most awaited. School friends and friends from the neighbour were the invitees to the annual gala party. Colourful balloons, a customized cake, an adorable dress, foot tapping music and the love of my family always made my birthday special.

Being in the same shell for years, I never imagined a different birthday. But things changed. They always do as change is the law of nature and has been witnessed since the times immoral. The school came to a finish and so did the friendship. Friends from the neighbour shifted to distant countries with their families. Now, there was hardly any friend to be invited to my birthday bash. The party hall of our house which used to be so full of children wearing the birthday caps was now looking for somebody to enter it.

After the change when my birthday came near, I found it difficult to shift from the conventional way of celebrating my birthday. And on my birthday, though I got a lot of phone calls and messages from my friends and the relatives wishing me success and happiness, I could not help feeling that void created by change. It was my birthday, I was sitting sad but just then my grandpa came to me. He told me that the change about which I was feeling sad could make me even happier than usual. He advised me to celebrate my birthday in a different style and get some new variety in life.

Then he took me to a place where I could find a lot of children. The place was an orphanage. I cut the cake there, distributed sweets to each and every underprivileged and then handed over the dresses to them that my grandpa brought. It was the most memorable birthday ever. That day I realized that change is so vital.
